Tips for ordering online at Derailleur...

Here's the nitty gritty I promised on how to order food and coffee online and pickup from Cafe Derailleur.  Here are those links to our store again... https://ordermate.online/cafederailleur/ or from the online ordering buttons on our website or Facebook page.

Firstly, we are not an App.   You can order from your desktop, tablet, iPhone, Android or iPad.  It's easy to create a favourite from your browser, bookmark it, save a short cut to your desktop or to your home screen on your phone or mobile device.

Next, create an account in our store.  Yes, you need to save your payment details here.  I hear you ask "how secure is it?"  Well it's been built by our Point of Sale (POS) system provider Ordermate and the online store integrates to our cafe POS.  Most POS providers have seen the trend to online ordering and have built robust systems that give users confidence in the process.

So, what's the process to order a coffee online?  Well, sign into your account (don't forget to set the device to remember your details). Select the items you want to order.  Yes you still get to add and subtract ingredients from your item just like we do when we are taking your order in the Cafe.  Most functionality is the same.  So you want a large latte, 1/2 strength with almond milk - no problem.  You want a gluten-free ham, cheese and chutney toastie?  Sure! 

Once you have selected the products you wanted to order click checkout to confirm how you would like to pay.

Once you have selected all you need, click checkout, then update your pickup time.  Remember that if you don't and you leave it as ASAP we will have your coffee and food ready in 10 minutes.  So if it takes you 15 minutes to get here, well your food and coffee may be a little cold.

Choose your payment option and wait for confirmation (text or email) that payment has gone through.  Re-process payment if any errors occur.

Next you'll need to check you payment details and process your payment.  Now here's where things get a little sticky.  If you are ordering from a really secure device or work situation that has cookies disabled then your order may not go through as the payment gateway requires cookies to be enabled.  Let us know if you are having trouble and we'll try to find a solution to your problem.  Remember to double check that your order has been processed (you'll get an email or text once payment is processed).

Once you have ordered the first time the system remembers your order so all you need do is sign in and select the re-order menu at the top right you can see the last few orders you placed with us.  Click the one you want and go through the checkout process.

As with most new technology, new systems and early adopters, things sometimes don't go to plan.  But if we don't give it a go, we'll never learn anything.  So, we'd like to thank you for coming with us on our online journey and remember, this is not the end.... just the beginning!
